Formed in 1983, Necrophagia were one of the very first death metal
bands; they focused on gore and horror movies since the beginning and
are also credited as pioneers of the "horror metal" sub-genre.
The band released various demos and in 1987 they released "Season of the Dead" Then shortly broke up afterwards claiming Extreme musical differences. Killjoy stated that "the other band members wanted to go torward a more mainstream style while I wanted to get heavier and sicker." When asked what made him develope his unique singing style , he simply stated "I just wanted to sound like the demon that possessed Reagan from "The Exorcist". The band remained inactive for more than ten years.
After the intial demise of Necrophagia, Killjoy kept busy by doing a self titled side project which he calls a thrash band, he also did a death/thrash metal band named "Cabal" in 1991.
In 1998 Phil Anselmo (Pantera) approached Killjoy with some
riffs. He subsequently joined the band on guitar and wrote all the
songs for the album Holocausto de la Morte.
Killjoy was the leader of the band and only original member until his sudden passing in March of 2018.

Shedding the skin of man
Salvation (from) mortal disease
Alive in the heart of the damned
Gnashing tooth
Ripped flesh (throat)
Slashed with
Feral
Claws
Lycanthrope
At one with shadows
Abomination, a god in itself
I carry the (carnivorous) curse
Harvesting land (for) human cattle
Jesus wept, upon creation
Even god whispers my name
Stare into eyes
Nothing human reamains
(Beneath blinding olandestined skies
An infant breathes it's
Last fog filled breath
Consumed by the beast
In it's jaws of death)
( ) - only in booklet
