Started as a solo project of Nocturn, aided by Dave Commando on Drums since their first demo. Profundis Tenebrarum played their first show in December, 2004.
Although Alfred Berengena was formerly considered a session member, he has recorded with the band as well as playing live shows. On this issue, Nocturn stated in 2012: We consider Alfred a member of the band, an active member of the band that collaborates and add ideas and opinions like any other. He also appears in band photos, so he's now considered a full-time member.
