Bathory - Bathory (1984) Reissue [2010]

Bathory is the first album by the Swedish Black Metal band Bathory. It is considered one of the first recordings that defined the Black Metal style.

The original title for the album was "Pentagrammaton," but it was discarded because many people read it as "Pentagon." The staff was placed in the back and was replaced on the cover by the face of a goat composed of several horror comic clippings.

It was printed on 1000 copies of vinyl, with a yellow goat instead of white. In the reedición for CD of 1990, Storm of Damnation and the subject of exit (outro) are not mentioned in the list of songs.

Bathory - Bloodbath [Bootleg] (2010)

Bathory formed in Vällingby in 1983. Quorthon (then known as Ace, after Ace Frehley of Kiss), a seventeen-year-old guitarist, was joined by the bass guitarist Fredrik Melander and the drummer Jonas Åkerlund. According to Quorthon, he came up with the name after a visit to the London Dungeon, although Jonas states that it was taken from the Venom song "Countess Bathory". Their first recording deal came that same year, when Quorthon managed to secure the consent of Tyfon Grammofon's boss (Quorthon's father Börje Forsberg, although Quorthon himself spread rumors to keep the audience unaware of this) to record two tracks for the compilation Scandinavian Metal Attack in 1984. The tracks gained unexpected attention from fans. Soon afterward, Tyfon Grammofon contacted Quorthon and asked him to record a full-length album. The band considered several names before settling on Bathory, including Nosferatu, Natas, Mephisto, Elizabeth Bathory and Countess Bathory.

Although Venom's Black Metal, released in 1982, was the first record to coin the term, it was Bathory's early albums, featuring Satanic lyrics, low-fi production and an inhuman vocal style, that defined the genre. Many fans and reviewers have claimed Venom was an influence on Bathory; however, Quorthon has said in an interview with Kick Ass magazine in 1985 that he had not listened to Venom until after the first Bathory album was released. He has also stated the band's early work was influenced primarily by Black Sabbath, Motörhead and G. B. H.

Bathory - Under The Sign Of The Black Mark (1987) Repress [2014]

Under the Sign of the Black Mark is the third studio album by Swedish extreme metal band Bathory. It was recorded in September 1986 and released on 11 May 1987 through New Renaissance Records and Under One Flag. It was a key album in the development of the black metal genre, and greatly influenced the Norwegian black metal scene that emerged in the early 1990s.

The photograph on the cover was by Gunnar Silins, from a photograph in the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. The model used was Leif Ehrnborg, a then-top class Swedish bodybuilder.

The song "Woman of Dark Desires" is a tribute to the band's namesake, Elizabeth Báthory. "Enter the Eternal Fire" was the band's first epic, reaching nearly seven minutes in length, with lyrics referring to a deal with the Devil. The song "Equimanthorn" makes references to Hell as well as to Norse mythology, including Odin's "eight-legged black stallion" Sleipnir.

Fenriz of Darkthrone called the album "the quintessential black metal album". He also cited it as a musical inspiration for the 1995 Darkthrone album Panzerfaust, besides Celtic Frost's Morbid Tales and Vader's Necrolust demo.

The song "Call from the Grave" was featured in 2009 game Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned.

In order to make The Beast more noticeable on the album cover, the center piece of the shot had to be enlarged to quite such an extent vast parts of the set had to be left out of the album cover.
