Mayhem - European Legions - Live In Marseille 2000 (2001)

 M A N I A C

Kristiansen joined Mayhem in 1986 after the departure of the band's original vocalist Messiah and left in 1988, when he was replaced by Kittil. When Hellhammer decided to revive Mayhem in 1995 after the deaths of both Euronymous and Dead and the imprisonment of Count Grishnakh, he invited Maniac to return as the band's vocalist.

He was known for giving extremely intense live performances and would often cut himself onstage, frequently landing him in intensive care units. However, in a later interview Kristiansen stated "...when we realized that the cutting had become a phenomenon people came to watch, I quit doing it." He has also stated that the coverage Mayhem has received is disproportionate.

Kristiansen was in the band until 2004 when he was forced to leave, his erratic behavior cited as the main reason for the departure. In the only press release about the split, he also cited lack of time as being a vital factor. In 2016 Kristensen briefly rejoined Mayhem onstage during the Inferno Festival in Oslo, Norway.

Just months before Kristiansen joined Mayhem he released the first issue off his fanzine Damage Inc. in 1986. The second issue came out in 1987 after he had joined Mayhem. Both issues include interviews with Mayhem among other content. He is currently a member of extreme metal band Skitliv with Niklas Kvarforth, and Kristiansen has also participated as a session member for Kvarforth's band Shining, did vocals for hardcore punk band Bomberos, and shares an ongoing experimental music project called Sehnsucht alongside his wife Vivian Slaughter.

For several years, Kristiansen was a self-admitted alcoholic. According to him, the turning point was one day when he found himself hanging by one arm out of a fourth floor window, with no idea how he got there. He is married to Vivian Slaughter, bassist and vocalist for the Japanese band Gallhammer.

Sodom - Get What You Deserve (1994)

Sodom is a Speed / Black Metal (early) and Thrash Metal band of German origin. It was founded in 1981 in the city of Gelsenkirchen by Thomas Such (Tom Angelripper) on bass and vocals, and Frank Testegen on guitars. Their name was inspired by the movies "Saló or the 120 days of sodom" and in the movie "Sodom and Gomorrah".

They are part of the German big 4 together with his compatriots Destruction, Kreator and Tankard. Sodom considered one of the bands that defined the sound of Thrash Metal and was also a key band for the creation of extreme Metal. Sodom is also the most successful Thrash band in Germany, having sold more than 8 million records worldwide.

Furthermore his album ''Agent Orange'' is the best selling Thrash Metal album in the history of German Thrash and it also became a Metal classic.

The lyrics of their songs were at first about Satanism, blasphemy and the occult but since his album ''Persecution Mania'' his lyrics are based on Wars, political themes and death.

The band has their own mascot named Knarrenheinz. In German Knarren means pistol and Heinz is one of the most popular names in Germany. He is a soldier who always wears an oxygen mask and is the protagonist of several Sodom covers.

Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult - Hora Nocturna (2006)

Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult was called into its existence during the cold wintery months of 1997.

After the glorious days of early old school black metal had been infested by Gothic influences, and the betrayal of the Scandinavian forefathers - who apperently changed their allegiance, it was the intention of the two founding members Onielar (Vokills, Git.) as well as Ariovist (Drums) to call forth a band which would contribute it's music to the old traditional vein of black metal.

This line-up was reinforced by Velnias (Git.) who joined their ranks after approximately six unholy months. The position of the bass strangler stayed vacant since day one. Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult stands for own satanic and nihilistic beliefs, along with the conspiracy for raw black metal this spirit is carved deep into their hearts. Thus, it seems nearly impossible to find an individual which combines both the skill and the mandatory views of the occult. Only these individuals may join the Slaughtercult.

In the following months the darkened trinity put much effort, sweat and blood into their very first hymns. During this time many tried out for the open bass position, but all were slain, all fell down to be mere cannonfodder. As time passed by it got more clearer day by day that soon the ways of Ariovist and Slaughtercult would go into different directions. While his path led off into a more pathetic human direction - Slaughtercult kept heading straight forward towards the human rank and file in order to slaughter under the banner of blasphemy. Thus during the second half of the year 1999 the first official release The Pest Called Humanity was recorded.

The line up back then was:
Onielar - Vox, Git   Velnias - Git   Ariovist - Drums   Grigorr - Session Bass

This album being dedicated to pure underground deeds combined the true spirit, which is grim, dark and evil as well as a quality production.

El Kaso Urkijo - From Dark Dimension Of Destruction (1991)

EL KASO URKIJO is a grindcore group of Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain). Formed in 1987 and disbanded in 1997, by Popeye, Warheads and Obeja. The was the first spanish band managed to release an album of pure grindcore in 1990. After more than a decade after their dissolution, the band reunited with changes in training in 2009. EL KASO URKIJO published in 2009 their CD back entitled "La bañera fué su nicho". His music moves certainly in search of the essence that gave name to this style of music, pure, simple, direct and radical grindcore unceremoniously or foreign ornaments have been a reference for many groups both inside and outside of Spain, with a sound own very particular, quite noisy, not specially fast and sometime with little touches of hardcore, electronic or sludge metal.

Pero Muerto', 'Un Cementerio Repleto', 'Audio Destruccion', 'Torrebruno Detenido Por Pederasta', 'Atake En El Parke', 'Perdi La Pierna Ortopedika', 'Mierda Pura', 'Yogurt De Bilis', 'Industrial Implosion', 'No Encontraron Mis Restos', 'Padre Del Año Violador', 'El Entierro De Un Siniestro', 'Titulo desconocido', 'Pirómanos Bomberos', 'Adoptive Head', 'Batidora Of Death', 'Los Ojos Venian Con La Cabeza', 'Tu Madre Violo A Mi Kaniche', 'Devuelveme El Riñon', 'Me Aplasto Un Kamion', 'Devoured Menstruacion Of Heidie', 'Apocalyptic Macro Perturbation' y 'Konstruyendo La Destrucción'.

La mega-maqueta contenía un total de 29 temas: 'Intro (Ataque De Ruido)', 'Konstruyendo La Destruccion', 'Felipe Pinochet', 'Torrebruno Detenido', 'Drogarrumbadictos', 'Antirrumberos', 'Jovenes Vakillas', 'Libertad Para Rafi Escobedo', 'Astrologia Rectal', 'Kaniche Asesino', 'El Karnicero De Treblinka', 'Deskuartizamos La Trankilidad!', 'Reza, Sufre Y Muere!', 'Niño Muerto', 'Anti Alien Moshin' Death', 'Gruteos Degutidos Kon Glucosa', 'Kagando Bomberos', 'Incomprension', 'Manuel Serrat Serrado En Una Tabla De Surf', 'Colon En Un Bote De Kolon', 'Estirpamiento De Klitoris', 'Descorchapanzas Magefesa', 'Vakaciones Dentro De Un Karton De Leche', 'Ke Asco Me Das!', 'Kaniche Gotiko', 'Destripamiento Kon Leche' y 'El Entierro De Un Siniestro'.

Morbid - Year Of The Goat [Compilation] (2011)

I.
Followed with a fascination of war, horror and violence, Pelle Ohlin formed a band in the early 80's.
Due to some problems, this band split-up and Pelle made a new band called "Ohlin Metal".
Unfortunately, this band didn't last very long too.
--------
II.
He met Gehenna (Johan Hagstrom) in a record stores and they decided to form a band called Armageddon.
(only fragments are preserved though).
Few times later, Pelle met Slator (Mats Gonzales) and Anders Gonzales.
In early 1985, the band changes its name to Scapegoat. (logo made by Anders Gonzales).
--------
III.
Once again, the band met some problems.
In 1986 the band evolved into Morbid :
- Dead (Pelle Ohlin) : singer
- Gehenna : guitar
- Klacke (Marcus Klack) : guitar
- Slator : Bass
- Gehenna's friends : drum.

Later, Dr. Schitz (Jens Näsström) joined the band and replaced Slator on bass, TG (Torbjörn Gräslund Tege) took Klacke's position as guitarist.
Drutten (Lars-Göran Petrov) joined the band as drummer.
First live appearrances of Morbid startedin spring of 1987 especially at Birkagarden and Ultrahuset.
Summer of 1987, Napoleon Pukes (Ulf Andreas Cederlund) replaced TG on guitar.
On December 5th 1987, Morbid entered the studio to record their legendary demo : December Moon.
Around 1987/1988, Gehenna left the band and before the end of January Dead moved to Norway and joined Mayhem.
John Scarisbrick joined Morbid as singer and Zoran as guitarist.
In 1988 they recorded the demo : Last supper.
Unfortunately, without Dead and Gehenna it was not really Morbid anymore...
--------
IV.
In  the fall of 1990, Dead, Dr. Schitz and Gehenna finally got together for a rehearsal, their first for almost three years.
They planed to record a single which would includea new song called : "I love the dead" and a new version of "Deathexecution".
Dead was very serious to reform Morbid and was probably to leave Mayhem.
Unfortunately, he commited suicide on April 8th 1991.
(from : Year of the Goat).

---·▪•●•▪·---

''We know'' (!?):

-  One (or more) "Ohlin Metal" tape(s) exists.
- A scapegoat logo
- Few Morbid rehearsals
- A lot of live recordings
- Few live videos.

The first band logo was inspired by a comic called "The tombs of Dracula", created in 1972.

On May 7th, 2011, important musicians within the Swedish extreme metal scene, including Erik Wallin, Peter Stjärnvind, Erik Danielsson, Erik "Tyrant" Gustavsson, and David Blomqvist, performed a tribute to Morbid entitled "Mörbit" in memory of Dead at Kafé 44 in Stockholm, Sweden.

Pelle Ohlin/Per Yngve Ohlin was born a cold winter day of January 16th of 1969 in Västerhaninge (Sweden).
Son of Anita and Lars Ohlin, he was the eldest child of three children including a sister (Anna), a brother (Anders) and a half-brother (Daniel).
Pelle was an unpredictable and perseverant child in all what he did.
He was fascinated by war, horror, comics and had a particular humor.
He had a rough childhood especially when the family split-up.
Also, he was not understood with other children, they didn't understand who he was and were easier to reject or even to attack him.
This was the reason of his famous "near-death experience", it occurred in the Autumn 1982 when Pelle was beating by a gang at school.
He changed school after this and met friends who shared his interest in music.
Music, horror interest and fascination for the morbid going deeper and deeper and decided to form a band.

On 8 April 1991 he committed suicide.
He was buried at Österhaninge Begravningsplats in Stockholm.

- Lyrics of "Burn my coffin" (Marduk - Those of the unlight) were written by Dead.

- Among band members, only Necrobutcher went to the Pelle's funeral.

- Varg sent shotgun shells as a Christmas gift, including the shells Pelle used for his suicide.

- According to Ulf Cederlund, the name "Morbid" was a reference to Celtic Frost's "Morbid tales" Ep.

-  Pelle was fascinated by horror stuff, black humor, etc... but he was also fascinated by medieval history.

- Morbid - Disgusting Semla : A Semla is a traditional sweet roll associated with lent and especially shrove Monday.
It consists of a cardamom-spiced wheat bun which has its top cut off, and is then filled with a mix of milk and almond paste, topped with whipped cream.
The cut-off top serves as a lid and is dusted with powdered sugar.

- Necrobutcher has one of the most important Mayhem collection, including several videos with Pelle.

- Before to use "Dead" as nickname, Pelle was called "Geten", the Swedish word for "Goat".
If you look at the first page of "Year of the goat " you can read : Tillägnad Geten.
Translation : Dedicated to Goat.

- Morbid - Wings Of Funeral. The intro was taken from the movie "Evil Dead" - 1981.
