Bathory - Under The Sign Of The Black Mark (1987) Repress [2014]

Under the Sign of the Black Mark is the third studio album by Swedish extreme metal band Bathory. It was recorded in September 1986 and released on 11 May 1987 through New Renaissance Records and Under One Flag. It was a key album in the development of the black metal genre, and greatly influenced the Norwegian black metal scene that emerged in the early 1990s.

The photograph on the cover was by Gunnar Silins, from a photograph in the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. The model used was Leif Ehrnborg, a then-top class Swedish bodybuilder.

The song "Woman of Dark Desires" is a tribute to the band's namesake, Elizabeth Báthory. "Enter the Eternal Fire" was the band's first epic, reaching nearly seven minutes in length, with lyrics referring to a deal with the Devil. The song "Equimanthorn" makes references to Hell as well as to Norse mythology, including Odin's "eight-legged black stallion" Sleipnir.

Fenriz of Darkthrone called the album "the quintessential black metal album". He also cited it as a musical inspiration for the 1995 Darkthrone album Panzerfaust, besides Celtic Frost's Morbid Tales and Vader's Necrolust demo.

The song "Call from the Grave" was featured in 2009 game Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned.

Immortal - Battles In The North (1995) Reissue [2015]

Battles in the North is the third studio album by Norwegian black metal band Immortal. It was released on May 15, 1995 through Osmose Productions. It picks up where its predecessor, Pure Holocaust, left off, featuring extreme tempos, low-fidelity production, and lyrics about coldness or wintery landscapes. This is the first album where the concept of Blashyrkh becomes a central focus. The last album to feature Abbath on drums.

The songs "Cursed Realms of the Winterdemons" and "Circling Above in Time Before Time" reference The Underdark, a setting from Dungeons and Dragons.

Music videos were made for "Blashyrkh (Mighty Ravendark)" and "Grim and Frostbitten Kingdoms", the latter featuring Hellhammer on drums, who also became the band's touring drummer during this period.

Immortal's primary members have never been involved in the more controversial activities of some of their contemporaries in the second wave of black metal. Their lyrics have also never involved the religious or political ideologies often associated with the scene to any great extent, instead being concerned with darkness and evil in a fantasy setting.

Brujeria - Matando Güeros (1993)

Brujeria is a Mexican extreme metal band formed in Tijuana, Mexico in 1989. Their name comes from the Spanish word for "witchcraft". Their songs, which are sung in Spanish, are focused on Satanism, anti-Christianity, sex, immigration, narcotics smuggling, and politics. Portraying a Mexican image and with a heavy anti-American stance, the majority of the band's members are Mexican-born, with some being American, Swedish or British.

Brujeria alumni include Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares and drummer Raymond Herrera, as well as Billy Gould, Nicholas Barker, Jeff Walker and Shane Embury. They perform under pseudonyms and portray themselves as a Latino band consisting of drug lords, concealing their identities due to being wanted by the FBI. In videos and photographs of the band, they are shown wearing bandanas, balaclavas, serapes, and are often shown wielding machetes.

-Tracklist:

1. Pura de venta     00:41
2. Leyes narcos     01:09

19. Cristo de la roca     01:12

-Line up:

- Juan Brujo: Vocals
- Pinche Peach: Samples, Vocals (additional)
- Asesino: Guitars
- Hongo: Guitars, bass
- Güero sin Fe: Bass
- Fantasma: Bass, vocals
- Greñudo: Drums
- Jr. Hocicon: "Director diabólico".

 Label: Roadrunner Records.

This is the only pure grindcore full-length album released by Brujeria, as later albums show a more death/groove sound.
"Güero" is a Mexican slang term for a pale-skinned or blonde-haired person, specifically used as a slur for US citizens of white/caucasian race.

Track 16 to 19 are remastered tracks off the "Machetazos" single.

The official line-up for the album credits Jr. Hocicon (Jello Biafra) as "Director diabolico" which means "Diabolic director"; it is implied that he was either the producer or exectutive producer for the album.

"Matando Güeros" is one of the songs to the "Gummo" soundtrack.

Upon the album's release there were many censoring issues with some stores in the U.S. and Europe due to its shocking content and graphic front cover. Roadrunner released a censored version with the cover showing just the name of the band and album title on a black background, although the original cover can be found in the inside booklet.

The decapitated head shown on the album cover became a well-known gimmick for the band, which they used as a mascot named "Coco Loco" (meaning "Crazy Head") and was widely featured in t-shirts, flyers and mech associated with Brujeria.

EL MACABRO ORIGEN DEL COCO LOCO

NO VA A HABER OTRO, NO ACEPTAN IMITACIONES.

Belphegor - The Last Supper / Blutsabbath [Compilation] (2004)

Belphegor was founded in 1993 and spread like a virus within the underground. Meanwhile, their ''Bloodbath In Paradise'' demo has become legendary and paved the baleful path into the souls of thousands of listeners. Anti-religious with nihilistic tendencies as well as provocative topics, Belphegor moved on. The debut album ''The Last Supper'' (1995) let the community of followers and opponents grow. Inexorably, the band pushes their destructive ways forward in the following years. Belphegor become louder, more obsessed and more dynamic, and their albums now have cult status. To think about the scene doesn't work without thinking of Belphegor. In 2008, the band sent their followers to the edge of hell with ''Bondage Goat Zombie'' and sparked an all-consuming Death Metal fire with blasting black metal influences. This masterpiece, inspired by the Marquis de Sade, is one of the most demanding works the genre has offered to this day. Belphegor showed themselves equally brutal and baleful on the successors ''Walpurgis Rites-Hexenwahn'' (2009) and ''Blood Magick Necromance'' (1011)

Suffocation - Pinnacle Of Bedlam (2013)

Suffocation are widely recognized major innovators of death metal. They had a massive influence on the genre and pioneered the balance between brutal and technical sounds commonly heard in modern death metal. Frank Mullen is considered as one of the most emblematic death metal vocalists as well as one of the first to use a very deep "death growl" vocal style.

There was an earlier "incarnation" of Suffocation existing from 1988 to around 1990 which featured vocalist Frank Mullen, bassist Josh Barohn, guitarists Guy Marchais and Todd German and Barohn's friend on drums. By 1990, the band had hired guitarists Terrance Hobbs and Doug Cerrito along with drummer Mike Smith, members of the local band Mortuary which had already disbanded.

The band split-up after Despise the Sun and reformed in 2002 with some line-up changes. Doug Cerrito was asked to join when the band reformed, but apparently he wasn't interested. Mike Smith left the band again in 2012 due to personal differences with other members and was replaced by Dave Culross (who had previously played with the band on Despise the Sun). Culross was later replaced by Kevin Talley.

Entombed - Clandestine (1991) Reissue [1999]

Clandestine is the second studio album by Swedish death metal band Entombed. It was released on November 12, 1991, in Europe, and on February 11, 1992, in North America. It helped establish a distinctively Swedish sound in the death metal genre. This is the only Entombed album on which original vocalist L.G. Petrov does not appear.
Prior to the recording of Clandestine, Petrov was fired from the band due to personal disputes. The vocals on the album were recorded by Andersson instead, and for the tour following the album's release in 1991, the band hired vocalist Johnny Dordevic, previously a member of the band Carnage.
