Embrace Me Ocean - Grey [1999]

 

Band formed in September '94 by José Miramontes (vocals), David Villar (bass), Xan Castro (drums), Pablo Seoane and Carlos Fuentes (guitars). After a series of Embrace Me Ocean concerts they recorded and produced their first demo, from which some 500 copies are moved that help the group to enter the immense metal underground. After the promotion of this one, the band contributes to the collection of singles of the call "Rock Parrulo" with the subject Nobrained, of which 1000 copies are published the 12/04/95 that are exhausted quickly due to their awaited launching.In September 95 and after the departure of Xan, replaced by Javi Gestal, Embrace Me Ocean is locked in the rehearsal room until July 96. After several concerts presenting new line-up and repertoire the possibility of contributing to the compilation of the galician label MAN records "Millenium Compilation", reason why the band records in the studies Fussion the subjects "Black Elk Speaks" and "Painful awakening" with Gonzalo "Gonso" Pedrido. The CD is edited on 04/18/97 and also includes Embrace Me Ocean to Dismal, Unhallowed, Nowhere ...Little by little, the name of the band is growing in popularity, allowing you to play at festivals and concerts with bands like: Absorbed, Brutal Thin, Dismal, Hamlet, Ktulu, Dover, La Polla Records ..., besides being selected together with Unnatural to participate in the IX edition of the "Villa de Bilbao" festival where he plays on 05/21/97. For the same dates Embrace Me Ocean is invited to participate as a finalist in the I sample of young music "La Fono en vivo".At the beginning of the 98, the German seal Earth A.D. contact Embrace Me Ocean on the occasion of the edition of the European compilation "Deathophobia" (edited in May '98) so that the song "Self Named Gods" is recorded, which leaves the band and the national metal (since it is the only Spanish representation) in great place with respect to the rest of the groups.
 
Shortly after arrives at last, from the hand of Arise Records, the possibility of editing their first cd, recorded and mixed in twenty days between the months of November 98 and January 99 at the Fussion studios, again with the help of "Gonso "Pedrido. This first work is titled "Grey" and consists of nine songs loaded with strength and characterized by its simplicity in terms of structures and its sound, raw and powerful. Edited in March 99 and distributed by Mastertrax, receives great reviews at national and international level, making the band is proclaimed revelation band of 99. After its release,
Embrace Me Ocean embarks on a series of concerts in Spain and Portugal supporting Overkill, Annihilator, A.N.I.M.A.L., Skunk DF, Def Con Dos, Freak XXI, Thedismal, ...After five years in the band, Javi decides to leave and says goodbye in a mythical and emotional concert on 6/8/00. But the farewells would not end there, because David leaves the group in the month of October of the 2000 and Alberto enters in his place, on the other hand Carlos leaves the band in the month of May of the 2001. The three remaining members decide to look for a new drummer and stay as a quartet, after many tests, in July 2001 he enters as new drummer Dani, from that moment the band prepares to record, play and get a new record contract. ... but they do not get such a record contract and they record a demo, in 2005.
