Inquisition - Anxious Death / Forever Under [Compilation] (2006)

In 1988, Dagon formed the thrash metal band Guillotina in Cali, Colombia. The band possessed a thrash metal sound on its earliest recordings. The band changed their name to Inquisition in 1989 and released their debut on vinyl 12"EP "Anxious Death" playing the ancient sound of the Thrash Metal in the old Sodom/Kreator vein; the musical style was a bit different but the ideology has been always the same: Total Darkness and Philosophies of Wisdom.

In 1993 the second production was released on full-length tape format which was named "Forever Under", also in the path of violent Thrash Metal Music and in the old Dark Angel/Kreator vein. The band continued with their thrash sound until about 1994, when they evolved into a black metal band.

In 1996 Dagon left Colombia for the US and met Incubus who joined on drums.

Inquisition & Profane Creation - Summoning The Black Dimensions In The Farallones / Nema [split] (1996) 2 x Picture Disc (2006)

I  N  Q  U  I  S  I  T  I  O  N

In 1988 Dagon formed the thrash metal band Guillotina in Cali, Colombia. However, no demos were ever recorded and no official releases have surfaced yet. While there is a rehearsal that may appear into the underground one day, there is also a videotape of the band's live debut 1988 when they opened for Nemesis and Reencarnacion. The band continued with their thrash sound until about 1994, when they evolved into a black metal band.

In April 1996, Dagon left Colombia and moved back to the United States to continue Inquisition and search for a new drummer. That same year Dagon met Incubus, who joined the band on drums and the creation of their debut full-length album began. This line-up has remained stable since then and is now seen as the classic Inquisition line-up.

Dagon is of Colombian mother and American father, and originally from the United States, but had moved to Colombia. Inquisition's early records were first released in Colombia and it was there that they first performed live playing alongside bands such as Reencarnacion, among others.

According to an interview with Heavy Metal Home TV, Inquisition had a bass player in 1998 (most likely Debandt) but he was kicked out due to drug-related problems.

Inquisition - Nefarious Dismal Orations (2007) [LP Limited Edition] (2008)

Inquisition was formed in 1988 in Cali, Colombia, by Dagon as a thrash metal act named Guillotine. The band changed their name to Inquisition in 1989. The name, frontman Dagon later explained, was chosen because it represented humanity's "need to establish dominance, control and order based on a particular period of our world's history." Dagon viewed this historical event as emblematic of "man's [general] need to impose his rule over others." In 1996, Dagon relocated to the United States and recruited Incubus on drums and Debandt on bass. Debandt departed the band shortly after the release of Inquisition's full-length debut, Into the Infernal Regions of the Ancient Cult. The band chose to remain a two-piece and all subsequent releases were recorded solely by Dagon and Incubus.

Dagon has suggested that the band's formation in Colombia and subsequent development in the United States affected Inquisition's sound. Observing that "Many second and third world countries have an environment in them that suits Black Metal and Death Metal perfectly," Dagon explained that "life in some of them mean nothing. The high social tension and rebellion in those areas of the world only intensify this music and make 'evil' much more of a reality." Recalling "seeing people get shot and stabbed [by] the Cali and Medellin cartel," Dagon portrayed the environment surrounding the band's formative years as "true darkness in flesh and blood." He described Inquisition as combining "the South American attitude" with "the musicianship and skills of the European scene." Dagon later downplayed geographic and cultural influences in favour of emphasizing the band's metaphysical inspiration: "I don't think of anything particular in our music as being rooted in a particular area culturally. Sure, there can be external influences based on geographical location, or your heritage can play a role, but in this band's case it just doesn't happen. We keep things detached from that and aim for a sound that is inspired from a much more distant and mystical element."

Inquisition - Invoking the Majestic Throne of Satan (2002)

In 1988 Dagon formed the thrash metal band Guillotina in Cali, Colombia. However, no demos were ever recorded and no official releases have surfaced yet. While there is a rehearsal that may appear into the underground one day, there is also a videotape of the band's live debut 1988 when they opened for Nemesis and Reencarnaci贸n.

Inquisition's style of black metal involves slow, deep and dark riffing combined with sudden tempo changes to faster sections based around blast beats and high-speed riffing; at times adding melodic solos. The classic Inquisition sound involves the combination of old school thrash metal-influenced riffs with darker and more chaotic black metal, primarily involving fast, tremolo picked minor-key guitar riffs, thus creating the trademark "Inquisition sound".

Dagon is of Colombian mother and American father, and originally from the United States, but had moved to Colombia. Inquisition's early records were first released in Colombia and it was there that they first performed live playing alongside bands such as Reencarnaci贸n, among others.

According to an interview with Heavy Metal Home TV, Inquisition had a bass player in 1998 (most likely Debandt) but he was kicked out due to drug-related problems.
