Suffocation - Pinnacle Of Bedlam (2013)

Suffocation are widely recognized major innovators of death metal. They had a massive influence on the genre and pioneered the balance between brutal and technical sounds commonly heard in modern death metal. Frank Mullen is considered as one of the most emblematic death metal vocalists as well as one of the first to use a very deep "death growl" vocal style.

There was an earlier "incarnation" of Suffocation existing from 1988 to around 1990 which featured vocalist Frank Mullen, bassist Josh Barohn, guitarists Guy Marchais and Todd German and Barohn's friend on drums. By 1990, the band had hired guitarists Terrance Hobbs and Doug Cerrito along with drummer Mike Smith, members of the local band Mortuary which had already disbanded.

The band split-up after Despise the Sun and reformed in 2002 with some line-up changes. Doug Cerrito was asked to join when the band reformed, but apparently he wasn't interested. Mike Smith left the band again in 2012 due to personal differences with other members and was replaced by Dave Culross (who had previously played with the band on Despise the Sun). Culross was later replaced by Kevin Talley.

Originating from Spain's capital Madrid in 1998, Wormed immediately made an impact in the death metal scene with the release of their 'Floating Cadaver in the Monochrome' MCD (1999). Following a promo CD under the title 'Voxel Mitosis' (2001), the first studio album 'Planisphaerium' received high acclaim by critics and fans alike in 2003. In the wake of their debut full-length, the Spanish received invitations to international festival shows and touring around the globe. Wormed performed in Japan alongside Goratory and Vomit Remnants and afterwards hit Europe with Malignancy and Despondency.
A creative hiatus, partly due to line-up changes and filled with re-issues of their previous released as well as the single 'Quasineutrality' (2010) finally ended, when their sophomore album 'Exodromos' came out in 2013. On their third full-length 'Krighsu' (2016), the fast-rising Spanish Sci-Fi tech death prodigies are telling a dystopian cosmic story with lyrics and music joined into an overarching concept. Its intense brutality, dissonant dynamic riffing, and tremendous heaviness combined with an amazing futuristic concept, which introduced the character Krighsu - last human in the cosmos, harvested top reviews and saw Wormed headlining in the US and co-headlining in Europe.

Deeds of Flesh - Inbreeding the Anthropophagi (1998) Reissue [2002[

Deeds of Flesh were formed in 1993 by Jacoby Kingston, Erik Lindmark (1972-2018) and Joey Heaslet. They signed to Wild Rags Records and released their first EP, entitled Gradually Melted. They then moved labels to the now-defunct Repulse Records, and released their first full-length album, entitled Trading Pieces, in 1996.

Two years later, in 1998, they released a second album, entitled Inbreeding the Anthropophagi, on the same label, this time with Brad Palmer replacing Joey Heaslet on drums. After this album was recorded, guitarist Jim Tkacz joined the band. The band then lost their contract with the label and self-released a demo.

After this, they founded their own label, Unique Leader Records, which as well released Deeds of Flesh albums and has since become home to a number of other death metal bands from around the world like Pyaemia, Disavowed, Gorgasm, Beheaded, Decrepit Birth, and Severed Savior.

As of 2012, due to a severe tendinitis in his fretting arm, Erik Lindmark only handled guitar duties in the studio while doing vocals live.

On November 29th, 2018, Lindmark passed away from Sclerosis.

Dedicated to the memory of Josh Heatly (Infamy).

Recorded at Moon Productions Studio, Arroyo Grande, California, U.S.A.
Produced by Deeds of Flesh.
