Decapitated + Incantation + Nervosa - Live at Bourbon Room, Porto (Por) 23.03.2024

Formed in 1996, Polish Tech Death masters Decapitated built a reputation over the years as one of the international leaders of their genre.

Decapitated was founded in Krosno, Poland in 1996, by guitarist Wacล‚aw "Vogg" Kieล‚tyka, who was 15 at the time, his brother drummer Witold "Vitek" Kieล‚tyka, who was 12 years old, and vocalist Wojciech "Sauron" Wฤ…sowicz, who was 16. One year later, bassist Marcin "Martin" Rygiel, 13, joined the band. Decapitated released its first demo, Cemeterial Gardens, in 1997 and its second demo, The Eye of Horus, in 1998. After signing to Earache Records subsidiary Wicked World, the band released its debut album, Winds of Creation, which included a cover version of Slayer's "Mandatory Suicide", and was produced by Piotr Wiwczarek from the Polish band Vader, in April 2000. The band toured with Vader in early 2001 in the United Kingdom. Allmusic states that "Decapitated have quickly gained recognition as one of Poland's, and even Europe's, finest exponents of ultra-technical death metal.

Incantation is an American death metal band that was formed by Jonh McEntee and Paul Lendley in 1989. They are one of the leaders in the New York death metal scene along with Suffocation and Immolation.

One of the main characteristics of the band is the power and complexity in their guitars, and the fact that the only original member of the band who remains in the band is John McEntee. Incantation is one of the bands that has seen the most lineup changes.

Prika Amaral started the band in February 2010 with Fernanda Terra (the first drummer), many girls played in Nervosa till July 2011, where they wrote some songs, despite being part of bands from different styles previously, like death metal and crossover, all members see in the compositions of Nervosa a same passion: thrash metal. With strong influences coming from bands of this genre’s classic school, the girls of the band seek to rescue the best in heavy music.

In august of 2011 Fernanda Lira took on the bass and vocals of NERVOSA, and only then, finally with the full team, the band start recording and playing shows.

In March 2012, the band released their first music video for “Masked Betrayer,” which reached the incredible mark, for a new band, of 20,000 views in just one week.

Thanks to the notoriety gained through their hard work, NERVOSA in the following months, achieved a great accomplishment: the contract with the Austrian label Napalm Records.

Still in 2012, the band’s first record, a demo with 3 tracks, was released in Brazil on CD independently, under the title ‘2012’ in August, and abroad by Napalm Records on turquoise vinyl, and by Nuclear Blast in a clear version, both under the title ‘Time Of Death’, whose cover art was designed by artist Andrei Bouzikov.

Nervosa ends the year 2012 with a very positive balance with more than 50 concerts made around the country.

After a period of exchanging drummers, the one who assumed the position in February of 2013 was Pitchu Ferraz.

In 2014, the girls finished the recording of their first full lenght, titled Victim of Yourself, which had 12 tracks and whose cover was signed again by the artist Andrei Bouzikov, and the booklet was produced by the Brazilian artist Rafael Romanelli.

Two clips were released throughout the album’s promotion: ‘Death!’, which achieved record-breaking views among the band’s videos (over 1 million views), and ‘Into Moshpit’, a live video compilation that demonstrates all the energy of the girls in a live show.

The good reception of the album was essential to result in a long and intense tour that lasted for the years 2014 and 2015. To promote the album in Brazil, the band played in Brazilian 17 states, went through 7 countries in Latin America and made a successful European tour with 51 shows in 60 days, including a total of 16 countries in the continent, including performances at some of Europe’s biggest summer festivals such as Summerbreeze, Brutal Assault, Metal Days, Obscene Extreme, among others.

The ‘Victim of Yourself’ promotion tour also took the band to the United States for the first time in 2016. Starting with two presentations on the already traditional ‘70000 tons of metal’ cruise, leaving from Florida and going to Jamaica, the tour also passed through much of the West Coast of the country and also to the South, with more than 30 concerts from the state of Washington all the way to the state of Florida. In addition, other new territories were explored by Nervosa, such as Mexico, where the band toured for two weeks, and other locations such as Puerto Rico and Peru.

Incantation - Primordial Domination (2006)

New York's Incantation, formed by guitarist John McEntee, topped anything that had been done in the genre of vicious death-metal with their debut Onward to Golgotha (1992), a lo-fi album deliberately produced in a murky and even filthy way, but no less crushing and breakneck. Jim Roe's drumming was average at best, but Craig Pillard's vocals were a force of nature and McEntee's guitar was a weapon of mass destruction, and somehow the whole was devastating. The very fact that they were not as technical as others, and the doom elements, made them de facto the pioneers of an "ugly" subgenre of death-metal.

Incantation - The Infernal Storm (2000)

Legendary Death Metal act Incantation was formed in the US in 1989 by John McEntee (guitar, vocals) and Paul Ledney (drums). People came and went and in 1992 they released their first full-length album, "Onward to Golgotha".

The Infernal Storm is the fourth studio album by the American death metal band Incantation. It was released in 2000 on Relapse Records (US), Moria Records Brazil and as PLP on Morbid Records.
