Katharsis recorded their first demo with a different three-piece line-up and then continued for a while as a duo of Drakh (vocals, drums, guitar) and Scorn (guitar, bass) after kicking out their original singer.
After their third demo, the band had to take a break because Drakh was doing his army service in Yugoslavia and Scorn
recorded a demo with his side-project Deathcult featuring his brother
M.K. on drums, who also joined Katharsis with the return of Drakh, who could then focus on the guitarist/vocalist position while Scorn took over the bass guitar full-time. This line-up has been stable for more than 5 years.
Katharsis appeared on the "Black Metal Blitzkrieg" compilation LP (300
hand-numbered copies, End All Life Productions, 2001) with the track
"Extermination".
The exclusive song "Archaic Ritual Infanticide In Obeyssance Towards
Hell" can be found also on the "Tormenting Legends Part II" compilation
2xLP released by Blut & Eisen Productions in 2006.
There is a high-quality bootleg packaged in a slipcase called "Kommando
Metal" released in December 2004 by Hostic Profanic, containing two of
their demos ("The Red Eye of Wrath" and "Into Endless Chaos") plus the
band's side of the "Trident Trinity" split with Deathcult. There's also a
tape version of this bootleg with unknown limitation.
