Spearhead - Deathless Steel Command (2005) CASS [2006]

"Take one part early Sepultura with a tinge of Possessed and two parts of acerbic, war-lusting black metal (Sadistik Exekution, Deströyer 666, Marduk circa 'Panzer Division Marduk'), add a pinch of cannon-fodder, stir well and allow this smoldering concoction to settle. What you'll get is the metal warmongery that is Spearhead.
Mind you though, although at an explicit level Spearhead have no regard for your hearing health whatsoever, there is standout quality here.

Compositions are not tiring and swiftly pass one after the other, due to catchy ideas that hit the spot and the tight percussion that follows both mid-tempo deluges and relentless blasting with ease. Adhering to old-school paradigms, proper solos (proper- guitar soloing, not flaunting six-string wankery) and slower doom-esque parts are artfully placed within songs to ensure the smooth flow of the album's dynamics. Production is raw and rough around the edges, and at times the snare sounds like the drummer's banging a cooking pot, but overall it fits the bill quite well.

And so, after a long array of self-styled monikers which dub themselves as "war metal", Spearhead pound forth with conviction, rudely taking their place among the genre's higher ranks. To people of a specifically acquired taste, this death-inspired cocktail of tempo changes and clattering riffage that Spearhead manage to churn will definitely find a suitable acceptance."

Blazemth - For Centuries Left Behind [ep] (1995)

The band was originally formed by Ferran Molla (aka Volkhaar: ex-Daemonum, ex-Decomposed, ex-Rotten Flesh) and Javi (aka Lord Erlick: Falç, ex-Undivine, ex-Daemonum, ex-Rotten Flesh) in 1994.
During 1993 - 1994 the band was known as Daemonum recording two demos during 1994 and finally became Blazemth later in 1994.

Blazemth´s style is strongly influenced by the Scandinavian scene (specifically the Norwegian scene of the early mid-90s). In their day, they were labeled in different media as the Spanish version of Immortal / Satyricon / Emperor. And in fact his first two works is a good example of this.

SHINING -|- Cervecería Dublín, Carballo (Esp) -|- 22.5.2008

The band's name does not refer to the 1977 Stephen King horror novel The Shining (nor the 1980 Stanley Kubrick movie based on it); rather, according to Niklas Kvarforth, it means "the path to enlightenment".

All Shining full-length albums have six songs, and usually have roman numbers preceding the titles in chronological order. Kvarforth chose to stop the enumeration in 2012, saying that "the use of numbers to describe our albums is no longer something that Shining is interested in doing", although he re-started to enumerate them with 2013's compilation 8 ½ - Feberdrömmar i vaket tillstånd.

Moreover, since the release of their third album, III - Angst - Självdestruktivitetens Emissarie, most Shining full-lengths feature an instrumental song, always the fifth one in the tracklist. This habit ended with their ninth release, IX - Everyone, Everything, Everywhere, Ends, in which the instrumental track is the first one, but was eventually taken over again on X - Varg utan flock 3 years later.

Cannibal Corpse - Tomb Of The Mutilated (1992) [Reissue] (2016)

Tomb of the Mutilated is the third studio album by American death metal band Cannibal Corpse. It was released in 1992 through Metal Blade Records and is the last Cannibal album recorded with the band's full original lineup, as founding guitarist Bob Rusay was fired after the album's release. Tomb of the Mutilated was banned in Germany, due to the violent cover and the extreme nature of the lyrics.

The opening song "Hammer Smashed Face" on this album quickly became Cannibal Corpse's best known and signature song. The track was featured during the band's cameo appearance in the film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, as well as downloadable content for the Rock Band video game series. The song "I Cum Blood" is also featured in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned.

Reviewers Jack Murray and Connur Joyce have both stated their belief that Tomb of the Mutilated is a high-concept album concerned with extreme necrophilia and sadism. Murray said "It's a very clever idea concerning the rape and murder of a young girl with a large knife, and continuing to rape the corpse until orgasm. This theme is particularly present in the last four tracks on the album", while Joyce announced in Finnish metal magazine Mutilate, "The album has heavy connotations throughout. It's definitely linked; especially in the last three tracks. The explicit nature in which Barnes grunts his way through the increasingly morbid lyrics certainly demonstrates the theme running through the album, that is to say the increasingly deteriorating mental state of the protagonist."

Chris Barnes stated on page 71 of the June 2008 issue of Decibel that "Entrails Ripped from a Virgin's Cunt" was based on two brothers, one of whom was semi-disabled, that were serving a life prison sentence. Barnes stated "They captured some girl, and the semi-retarded brother was talked into putting a coat hanger up her pussy to pull out her intestines."

Because the liner notes on Butchered at Birth feature quotations from American serial killer Albert Fish, he is often incorrectly credited with being the voice at the beginning of "Addicted to Vaginal Skin". However, the taped confession heard at the beginning of the song most likely belongs to the "Genesee River Killer" Arthur Shawcross.
