Hypocrisy - 10 Years of Chaos and Confusion [comp] (2001) + Hypocrisy Destroys Wacken (1999)

 

 This influential Swedish death metal band started from the will of one person, and this person’s name was (and is) Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, The Abyss, PAIN, ex-Lindemann). Having made the first demos all by himself, after getting an offer from Nuclear Blast, he invited musicians to form an actual band.

Since then, Hypocrisy gained success with its records and rocking live performances, and evolved musically and conceptually. Heavy and rich sound with catchy melodic riffs, crushing drum fills, obscure lyrics and versatile vocal parts became a signature style of the band. Its discography from debut 'Penetralia' to the recent 'Worship', through such legendary albums as 'The Fourth Dimension', 'Abducted', and 'Virus', is indeed a thrilling metal journey. A journey that continues.

Today, apart from Peter, the band consists of Mikael Hedlund (bass), who joined Hypocrisy back in 1991. Guitarist Thomas Elofsson is a session member since 2013. In 2022, the band was joined by a session drummer Henrik Axelsson.

Don’t let the name ‘Hypocrisy’ trick you: Peter Tägtgren stays true to himself, to the music and the fans, never stops creating, and never settles for less than perfect.

 Un demonio menor fue enviado del infierno para seguir los pasos de Jack Polo. El demonio no entendía el motivo de su misión pero debería tratar de enloquecer a su víctima, un importador de pepinillos con una vida aburrida y gris, de lo contrario el demonio no volvería al infierno y estaría condenado a vivir en la casa de Jack hasta lograrlo.

Assassin - The Upcoming Terror (1986) [Reissue] (2011)

 

Assassin were founded 1985 in Düsseldorf/Germany and after two successfull demo-tapes, the band was signed by record company SPV/Steamhammer.

1987 the first album “The Upcoming Terror” and one year later the second album “Interstellar Experience” were recorded and released.

In 1989 the band split up after some problems and a raid in the rehearsal room.

2002 Assassin were re founded and did their first show at the Wacken Open Air in 2003.

In 2005 the band recorded and published their third album “The Club” with their own label “AGD Records”, after Assassin played shows all over Europe.

In 2009 the band recorded a demo and a year later old fellows SPV/Steamhammer signed Assassin once again.

In summer 2010 the band recorded their fourth album “Breaking The Silence” with producer Harris Johns, which was released in February 2011.

In Summer 2011 the first two albums were released as a remaster named “Chronicles of Resistance” with a lot of bonus material.

After release they went on tour in countries like Greece, Poland, Denmark and Sweden once again.

In 2012 the band played an outstanding South-America tour in countries like Brasil, Argentina, Bolivia, Perú and Chile.

A year later ASSASSIN released their first DVD “Chaos and Live Shots” with SPV/Steamhammer again.

Beginning 2014 singer Robert Gonnella left the band. Assassin decided to go on and with Ingo “Crowzak” Bajonczak the band found an outstanding new singer to perform the upcomimg shows.

In October 2015 they went into the studio again to record their latest album “Combat Cathedral”. It was released May 2016 by SPV again.

Short time before the release Michael Hoffmann decided to leave the band because of different musical opinions.

A more than a substitute was found quickly with Frank Blackfire, formaly known as guitarist of Sodom and Kreator...

Machetazo - Sinfonías Del Terror Ciego (2005)

 

After testing this line-up with two singles, Machetazo released their third full length in 2005, Sinfonías del Terror Ciego, a concept album about the Spanish film maker Amando de Ossorio. This record brought them to a wider audience than ever before and 2006 was a year of intense touring and projects. They released a split single with Total Fucking Destruction on the American label Relapse in 2006. In late 2008, Carlos Cadaver left the band.
