BAEST is a powerhouse of old school metal. Influenced by the genres heroes, BAEST bring
their own style to Extreme metal. From Death Metal to progressive epics, they bring a
thunderous liveshow with no compromise. Following their latest full lenght Necro Sapiens,
their new EP ‘Justitia’ is out now on Century Media.
Just one year after their recent album release “Necro Sapiens” Danish Death Metal
powerhouse BAEST are back by announcing their 2022 EP “Justitia”. Including five brand-
new tracks the band picks up on where they left off with “Necro Sapiens” and recorded
another old school Death Metal masterpiece.
Justitia marks a powerful statement from BAEST. It fusions an old school melodic sound of
Scandinavian heavy metal, with the crushing brutality of the early pioneers of death metal.
The EP showcases the bands own unique brand of death metal, developed with an organic
feel from the intense songwriting sessions, and the live recordings from Lundgaard Studios,
with Andreas Linnemann behind the knobs once more. While going further into their own
territory, the band chose to bring on some heavy guts to the vocal party - featuring vocalists
Trevor Strnad (The Black Dahlia Murder) and Sven Caluwe.
Justitia marks a new repulsive
and progressive age of BAEST.
BLAST OPEN is a heavy metal combo from Asturias formed in 2008 by seasoned musicians from the Asturian metal scene. In 2010, after they released their first two songs in demo format, “Lost” and “Bad to Worse”, recorded at Eclipse studios by Daniel Sevillano, the band began to be present at concerts, sharing the stage with bands such as Vicious Rumors, Primal Fear or Havok.
In October 2011 they began producing the songs for their debut album entitled “They Destroy Our World” (2012), whose recording was carried out at Dynamita Studios, with Dani G. in charge of the recording, mixing and mastering. They started the album’s presentation participating in Summer festivals with bands like Crisix, Evile, Mnemic, Vita Imana or Teksuo, and in November, in conjunction with the band XXX from Valladolid, they put on their shared presentation tour "Dementia Destroys Our World", performing in different Spanish cities.
In order to support the album and tour, they published the videoclip of the song "Blinded", made by the agency ThrashWay, and they took part in the W:O:A Metal Battle Spain 2013, qualifying for the final held in Molins de Rey, thanks to their powerful and intense live act. "Human Shield" was chosen to be included in the CD "Grand Sounds Promotion Vol.3", a compilation of songs from metal bands which was distributed worldwide. During 2013 they closed the album presentation tour and ended the year performing at Mutant Fest and Killed by Death II festivals, along with bands such as Darksun, Posession, Human or Avulsed.
For their new album, the band decided to go back to working at Dynamita Studios where they recorded “Beyond the Hope” in 2016, a self-published work distributed by Santo Grial Records, and supported by an extensive tour throughout Spain.
"Beyond The Hope" is a new musical blast with fast and hard songs, transmitting the energy that the band offers in their live shows. Both the cover and booklet designs were created by Belén Lobeto. In support of their new work, they published a lyric video for the song "The Roots of Evil", made by Zelia Lorences and Pablo Bermejo, and performed by Marlene Redondo Tuñón.
In addition to their live performances, they also received recognition for their album: Top 10 Best National Albums of 2016, voted by the audience of the radio show “Diario de un Metalhead”; editor Pablo Folgueira’s, from MetalCry zine, National Top 10 and nominated for “Best Rock Album” at the Amas Awards in 2017. Andrés Álvarez was also the winner in the category “Guitar” in 2018’s edition of the aforementioned Amas Awards.
