Satanic Warmaster - Strength & Honour (2001) Remastered [2014]

 

Strength and Honour was released in November 2001 through Northern Heritage. It was reissued twice by Northern Heritage in 2003 and 2004, both pressings limited to 1000 copies. The original LP version comes with a bonus track, officially untitled, also referred to as "Legion Werewolf". The keyboard outro to "Night of Retribution" was originally intended to be the intro for Satanic Warmaster's unreleased "Black Metal Kommando" debut album. The album intro is an uncredited piece taken from the SPK album Zamia Lehmanni: Songs of Byzantine Flowers. The album cover features the “Spirit of Wolf” emblem by the band Black Draugwath. Satanic Warmaster apologized years later for the mistake.

Vomitory - Carnage Euphoria [Promo 2009]

Vomitory was formed in 1989 by guitarist Urban Gustafsson during the birth of the globally well-known Brutal Swedish Death Metal scene. Ever since, they have constantly and brutally delivered straightforward grinding Death Metal. While being a part of the phenomenon that was the Swedish Death Metal scene, the early and most important influences were spelled Sodom, Slayer, Entombed, Bolt Thrower, Napalm Death, Grave and Carcass. During the first years, Vomitory spread their name in the worldwide underground Death Metal scene by releasing a few demo tapes and a vinyl 7" single.
When the Death Metal scene was getting saturated and began to stagnate in the mid 90's, a lot of the "brutal" bands disbanded or changed their style drastically to something commercially more marketable. Vomitory refused to go in that direction, but released their debut full-length album instead, "Raped In Their Own Blood", in November 1996 (Fadeless Records). It was greeted with great respect within the underground scene and gained a lot of fans, which of many to this day have stayed loyal to Vomitory.
Their second album, "Redemption" (1999, Fadeless Records), showed a pretty big musical progress from the debut. The increase of brutality and intensity in their music was obvious. Now, they were well on their way to find their own formula. After two albums and one 10" mini-LP on Fadeless Records and some smaller European tours, Vomitory teamed up with well-renowned Metal Blade Records. Now the band had been reduced from five to four members - bass player Erik Rundqvist took over the vocal duties as well from then on. A successful European tour as support for Cannibal Corpse and the No Mercy festivals in 2000, passed and in November the same year Vomitory released their third album - their first for Metal Blade - "Revelation Nausea". It was with this album Vomitory cemented their style and sound of which they have become known for.
Since Vomitory signed to Metal Blade Records in late 1999, they have toured with the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Vader, Marduk, Nile, Malevolent Creation, Hypocrisy, Deicide, Krisiun, Dark Funeral, Amon Amarth, Kataklysm, Immortal - to name a few - and played many of the major metal festivals in Europe.
The fourth album, "Blood Rapture" (2002), and the fifth, "Primal Massacre" (2004), gained more excellent reviews in the metal media, more European tours and festival shows and Vomitory strengthened their position in the scene even further. "Blood Rapture" has proved to be a fan favorite, featuring live classics such as "Chaos Fury", "Blessed And Forsaken", "Rotting Hill" and the title track "Blood Rapture".
By the end of 2005, the newest member of Vomitory was added to the ranks - lead guitarist Peter Östlund. He brought well-needed new blood and energy into the band that have had a downward period during most of 2005. The writing process for album number six literally exploded and by the end of 2006, the sonic monster entitled "Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize" was recorded at Leon Music Studios with producer Rikard Löfgren - a co-operation that proved to be very successful. "Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize", which was released in April 2007, showed a refreshed Death Metal band with new-found energy that never had sounded better. With Östlund now in the band, new musical ideas could be worked out, and that clearly showed on "Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize". The photos and graphics for this album - created by Henrik Hedlund of Chaos Media - is by far the most explicit graphic material Vomitory has ever had, and eventually it got banned in Germany.
In 2009, Vomitory celebrated 20 years as a band and released their seventh album, "Carnage Euphoria". A special anniversary party was held in Karlstad/Sweden, to celebrate not only the two decades of Death fucking Metal, but also the release of "Carnage Euphoria" - an album that held their most varied and dynamic material to date. Once again the production bore the mark of Rikard Löfgren and Leon Music Studios.

Mütiilation - Majestas Leprosus (2003) LP [2005]

 

Mütiilation, one of the main representatives of the French underground Black Metal, is born during year 1991 in Montpellier around Jean-Luc, Meyhnach and David, respectively drummer, singer/guitar player, bass player.
Just after the release of their first demo, "Rites Through the Twilight of Hell " in 1992, the band is rapidly under the aegis of Black Legions. The music of Mütiilation is extremely black and tortured, with also some strange atmosphere. After the release of the maxi "Hail Sathanas, we are the Black Legions" in 1993, Jean-Luc and David leave the band. Jean-Luc is replaced by Kriss, the bass is put aside for a while. For the following release the band signs with Warmaster productions to give birth to its first album, ' Evil - the gestalt of loathing ' which will finally never come out to life.

During year 1995, Kriss leaves Mütiilation, claiming to be scared by the events and the drastically dark orientation of music. Mørdrëd takes the vacant post of bass player and the band will keep the drums tracks of Kriss for the recording of its first album "Vampires of black imperial blood" released in 1996 on Drakkar Production. Mørdrëd finally leaves the band shortly afterwards.

In 1999, Mütiilation releases a new album "Remains of a Ruined, Dead, Cursed Soul", which is more a compilation of unreleased pieces that an proper album, containing besides the titles of their unreleased disc of 1993 as well as two titles dating from a recording session of 1997. This album was supposed to announce the death of Mütiilation and its world 'its reluctance for orientation of the black metal scene'.

In 2001, Meyhnach, alone and determined, decides to re-form Mütiilation to show to the world that Black did not die (see the text of ''Black Millenium (Grimly Reborn)'' third album of the band released this year there). At this time Mütiilation wants to strike back and do things big definitely assuming its condition of solo project.

The band played two shows in 2001, one in Marseille and one at Under the Black Sun Festival in Germendorf. Both were bootlegged by Wargeist Productions under the title Desecrate Jesus' Name (CD + DVD, in DVD case), limited to 100 handnumbered copies with no extras.

Out in 2003, ''Majestas Leprosus'' , fourth official album, certainly the darkest of all career of Mütiilation.

Despite the one-shot live performance at the Hellfest (France) 2015 that saw Mütiilation rise again, Meyhna'ch declared fall 2017 this project to be "definitely dead".

Bolt Thrower - In Battle There Is No Law! (1988) Reissue [2011]

In Battle There Is No Law! is the debut album by British death metal band Bolt Thrower. It was recorded at Loco studios by Andrew Fryer, and mixed at Clockwork by Alan Scott. It was released on Vinyl Solution as Sol 11 in 1988 and re-released on Vinyl Solution as Sol 11 in 1992, with a different album sleeve. The album was again re-released in 2005 with the old album sleeve restored. The sound of the album dominantly featured characteristics of Grindcore, with lyrics socio-politically charged as the members had roots in hardcore punk, and created a sound that was heavily influenced by their roots.

German melodic death metal/metalcore act Heaven Shall Burn used the same album title for their debut EP as a homage to Bolt Thrower, claiming that the band had a huge influence on their music.

Brujerizmo is their third studio. Brujerizmo featured a more groove-oriented style, with a clear and refined sound as opposed to the deathgrind style of the previous albums.

This was the last album recorded with Asesino and Güero Sin Fe, who were 2 of the 5 original members when the project began in 1990.

Jesse Pintado (July 12, 1969 - August 27, 2006) was a guitarist born in Empalme, Sonora, Mexico, but at an early age he moved to the United States. His career began in the band Terrorizer, who recorded the grindcore album "World Downfall".

 Jesse was the first to coin the term "grindcore" in 1983 to describe a musical mixture of "noise and chaos" he was developing at the time.

He later replaced guitarist Bill Steer immediately joining the Napalm Death band to start recording the album "Harmony Corruption." In 2004 officially leaves Napalm Death and revives Terrorizer. At the same time, he plays with his former Napalm Death (Shane Embury) bassist in the band called Lock Up. With Terrorizer he made the album "Darker Days Ahead" in 2006. He was part of the recording of the album "Brujerizmo" by the band Brujería under the pseudonym "Cristo de Pisto".

Jesse Pintado lived in Ridderkerk, the Netherlands. He died on August 27, 2006 in a Dutch hospital due to health complications (diabetic coma).
