Carpathian Forest - Defending the Throne of Evil (2003)

In late 1990, the band originally started under the name Enthrone by Nattefrost (then bearing the pseudonym Lord Nosferatu) and Nordavind (who used the pseudonym Lord Karnstein). Together they produced a self-released demo tape, Black Winds, in 1991.

In 1992, Enthrone changed its name to Carpathian Forest, and Lord Blackmangler and Damnatus joined their line-up. As a quartet they self-released three demo tapes: Rehearsal Outtake, Bloodlust and Perversion (both in 1992) and Journey Through the Cold Moors of Svarttjern (in 1993). However, Damnatus and Lord Blackmangler left afterwards, and Carpathian Forest became once more a duo.

Carpathian Forest would release their first studio work in 1995: the extended play Through Chasm, Caves and Titan Woods, via Avantgarde Music. It would be their first of many releases via Avantgarde.

In 1998 the band released their first full-length album, Black Shining Leather, once more via Avantgarde Music. It was their only release to feature Lazare (who would later join Borknagar) on the band's line-up as a drummer. In the same year they also played their first concert at the Under the Black Sun Festival in Schönermark, Germany.

Lazare left Carpathian Forest in 1999, the same year Anders Kobro, Tchort and Daniel Vrangsinn joined them as permanent members. In the following year, their second full-length, Strange Old Brew, was released. It was their most experimental album so far. By the end of the year they also released a single, "He's Turning Blue".

In 2001, founding member Nordavind left Carpathian Forest, during the recording sessions of their third studio album, Morbid Fascination of Death, that still retained the experimentation (although to a lesser extent) of their previous release, Strange Old Brew. In the following year the compilation album We're Going to Hell for This: Over a Decade of Perversions was released, in order to celebrate the band's 10th anniversary as Carpathian Forest. It was their last album to be released by Avantgarde Music before they switched on to Season of Mist.

Their fourth full-length, Defending the Throne of Evil, was released in 2003 by Season of Mist. Contrasting with Carpathian Forest's previous releases, it was their most melodic album so far, almost reminiscent of symphonic black metal. In late 2003 the band was joined by Gøran "Blood Pervertor" Bomann.

2004 saw the release of a live DVD, We're Going to Hollywood for This, and a compilation album featuring rarities and reworked versions of old Carpathian Forest songs, Skjend hans lik (Norwegian for "Desecrate His Body").

Carpathian Forest's latest release was the 2006 studio album Fuck You All!!!! Caput tuum in ano est, that was a throwback to their early, blackened thrash metal-like sonority of their debut.

In an early 2008 issue of Terrorizer, Tchort spoke about the possibility of a new album, and the rumors circulating regarding a "half-finished album". He is quoted as saying: "I met with Nattefrost a few weeks ago and we decided to focus on a new album, but we haven't even started writing it yet. The news that we had an album half-finished was based on the fact that we had material left over from the last album. Since we record in different studios, this meant that I had the basics for music that Nattefrost never heard". He also divulged that "[we] kind of decided on a slightly new direction for the band, compared to Fuck You All, at least".

The band frontlined the Inferno Festival in 2009, and confirmed rumors that a new album was in the works.

The band entered on a relative hiatus after 2009, but from 2012 onwards they began to play on some festivals around Europe. The band was scheduled to play on the Maryland Deathfest on May 26, 2013, but their show had to be cancelled due to last-minute visa problems. The bands last-known concert was at Blastfest in Bergen, Norway on February 22, 2014.

The band went on hiatus in July 2014, after Tchort and Blood Pervertor announced they had parted ways with Carpathian Forest, and would form a new band called The 3rd Attempt.

In 2017, the band returned, and announced that they were working on a new album which would be called Likskue, released in 2018.

Centuries have strengthened his soul
He knows the winds
He knows the woods and the trees
Firmly held by the strongest chains

He's waiting for the nightfall
He lurks in the evening mist
An earthly demon-made soul
Declaring destruction of god
Destruction and war
He lurks the travellers to their death
He put a nail in your coffin
Forever and ever till the end of time
And he will always be
On top of the world!!!

 Our lifeless faces of death
You will walk the darkest path
And find no inner peace
The blackest light of true evil

Torture me with a thousand razors
Torment me no further, kill me now
This is the day of suffering
This is the day I see you die

Get me out of this fucking hellhole
I can't stand the fucking smell
I can't stand your hypocrisy
You're going to hell...

Barbarian Prophecies - Remains of Existence [EP] (2015)

The Death Metal band Barbarian Prophecies was formed in 2000 after the fusion of the bands Barbarianth and Venomous Prophecies.
In the beginning they got a place in the underground scene editing a demo called “Conquerors of the Wolfthrone” (2002), the Ep “War is Inminent” (2005) and their first album, “Condemned Land… the War Begins” (2009).
But it was not until 2011 when, after got a stable line up, they published their first fully professional record “Remember the Fallen”, recorded and mixed in the prolific Sadman Studios (Madird) by Carlos Santos and mastered by Mika Jussila in the Finnvox Studios from Helsinki.
“Remember the Fallen”allowed them touring all over the Spanish geography in several festivals, sharing scene with bands as important as Napalm Death.

Besides in October 2012 they performed their first international trip, a “mini-gig” that brought them till German lands, where three dates were taken place in Elmshorm and Hamburg, and where they played at the mitic Sala Logo.
After the great reception from the mass media and the audience, in December 2012 the band decided to enter recording the piece that will become their most ambicious record, not only in musical but in promotional level.
“XIII” will be on sale in the middle 2013 under the Italian label WormHoleDeath, that will take over for it’s international distribution.
It will consist in 13 songs recorded again under the supervision of Carlos Santos and mastered by Mika Jussila, in wich you will listen their personal vision about classic death metal.
“XIII” has the collaboration of several musicians friends of the band. For instance, Óscar Insua “Jumpin” who brings a guitar solo in the song “Embrace of Insanity” and who takes over the voices and the guitar solo in “Engulfed”, theme that he composed himself over 20 years ago for his former band, Absorbed, and then, Barbarian Prophecies included it as a tribute to one of the Spain Death Metal pioneers.

Raúl Muradás, who takes part opening the Lp with a piano and strings composition in “The Hidden”, and at last, guitarist as well, David Muñoz, who not only left his mark with another solo in “Embrace of Insanity” but he was responsible for the whole artwork.
Barbarian Prophecies decided to bet heavily on it’s new album, thus they are starting to work with the promo and management agency Lost Penguin Conspiracy, that in addition to manages their record deal, it will be responsible for advertising and promote it’s work.

Putrid Pile - Collection Of Butchery (2003)

In late 1995, Shaun LaCanne joined Numskull and had a 5 year reign of terror with the likes of Tom Bradner (Guitar), Paul Benigno (Vocals), Mike Eisenhauer (Bass), and Scott Creekmore (Drums). We went through a couple of lineup changes introducing Mark Page (Bass), and later Ryan Schaefer (Bass). Due to some circumstances beyond anyone’s control, Numskull split up. Hence the birth of Putrid Pile. Frustrated with Numskull's breakup, i, (Shaun) had to press on and be a part of the sickness that is the underground! Knowing already what I wanted, I immediately picked up a drum machine and started writing intense, sick and twisted guttural death metal. By the end of 2000, Putrid Pile had enough material for a 5-song demo. Early in 2001, Putrid Pile went to Mercenary Digital Studios to record the demo and entitled it "Bleed For Me". The first time it was ever released into public hands was at Milwaukee Metalfest 2001. It received a great response from the people who received a copy. Shortly afterwards Putrid Pile concentrated on live shows and getting as much publicity as possible. Putrid Pile continued to play gigs mercilessly and whore out free "Bleed For Me" demos to anyone who would take one in the US and around the world. The demo received many awesome reviews and continued to get a great response in the underground from bands, zines, webzines, radio stations and fans. Eventually, Putrid Pile caught the ear of United Guttural Records and signed a one record deal with them. After the signing, Putrid Pile went into strict writing mode. Writing a total of seven more songs, along with the five songs from the demo, to record the first full length, “Collection Of Butchery” to be released in early 2003. "Collection Of Butchery", is the sickest material that Putrid Pile has done to date with awesome artwork and excellent /professional production. In 2005 Putrid Pile recorded their sophmore CD entitled "The Pleasure In Suffering" that was released on Gorgiastic Records. This twelve track release recieved rave reviews in magazines such as Metal Maniacs and the like. Also, many of the tracks have gotten massive airplay and requests on loads of college radio stations across the nation and the world. With some of the classic cuts on the disc being, "Food for the Maggots", "My Inner Demon" and Rush-Hour Killing Spree to blast your eardrums into oblivion. In May 2009 Putrid Pile released the Junior CD of the band entitled "House Of Dementia" on Sevared Records. This release also helped the band to get such great endorsement deals from the best companies in the business such as, Jackson Guitars, Spectraflex Original Braided Cables, and Vader Cabinets. In the future, Putrid Pile plans to stay a one-man-band, and continue to progress and keep making quality extreme Death Metal for the masses.

Abigail & Mantak - The Eastern Desekratorz (Split 2008)

ABIGAIL:

The band was founded in 1992. The first demos were recorded together with Barbatos (bass, vocals), Y. Ono (drums) and Yasunori Nagamine (guitar). EP Descending from a Blackend Sky recorded Yasuyuki Suzuki alone. Suzuki negotiated a contract with the Australian label Modern Invasion. So Abigail made the recordings for the debut album Intercourse & Lust. Meanwhile, a split CD with the Dutch band Funeral Winds was recorded, which was initially limited to 700 pieces, as well as the single Confound Eternal, on the Youhei first time as a drummer participated. Because of the dissatisfaction with the sales of Intercourse & Lust, the cooperation of Modern Invasion was terminated.

It took two years to complete the debut album. It was finally published in May 1997. Between 1997 and 2001, the band mostly paused. Suzuki and Yasunori founded, along with Mirai Kawashima of Sigh, the project Cutthroat at this time. In 2001, Abigail came back with a split single along with Decayed. Abigail covered it with bulldozers. It was followed by the EP Welcome All Hell Fuckers, which was released via the French label Drakkar Productions. Shortly thereafter, Abigail played for the first time in North America. Together with the Japanese band Anwyl she toured under the slogan Black Metal Yakuza. Several split singles, including Witchburner and Sabbath, followed. In October 2003, the band toured Europe with Morrigan and Eminence. In addition to two live albums also appeared the album Forever Street Metal Bitch.

Since 2003, the band has released several live, split and best-of albums. Sweet Baby Metal Slut, her last regular studio album, was released in 2009. From the original line-up, only Suzuki and Youhei are left, guitarist Yasunori left in 2005, before the third album, Ultimate Unholy Death. Abigail has not found a steady guitarist since. On the releases Suzuki plays all instruments apart from the drums, with live performances they help out with the help of guitarists of friendly bands. On Sweet Baby Metal Slut, Noboru "Jero" Sakuma from the Japanese heavy metal band Gorgon took over the lead guitars.
Music style and lyrics

Abigail plays a mixture of Thrash and Black Metal of the old school, whereby her early work represents a "pure" Black Metal sound and her late work is more oriented to Thrash Metal.  Their influence includes mainly the Thrash and Speed Metal classics like Venom, Hellhammer and Sodom.
Characteristic, as with many Japanese bands, is the immense output of releases in single format. On the numerous releases, the members of the band often pay their tribute to unknown greats of the underground like Bulldozer and NME. The thrash metal of the band is not dissimilar to that of the Sabbath, but much more primitive and faster played.

The lyrics serve the typical metal clichés, but also build a connection to the Yakuza lifestyle. Occasionally Suzuki refers to his style as "Yakuza Metal". They often refer to themselves as "the most evil band in Japan."

"That lyrics are my life style. Metal is sex! Metal is beer! Ha ha. I'm really enjoy listening to metal music with drink beer. Beer and metal is my best medicine. " – Yasuyuki

On the relations with Germany (Suzuki published with Abigail a split EP with Morrigan and Barbatos one with the project Wolfsburg of the absurd singer Ronald Möbus) addressed, Suzuki replied that he was "very proud of the good relationship with Germany during the 2 World War ". The split EP with Morrigan should "demonstrate that the German-Japanese friendship will never die." In 2011, the release of a split EP with Akashah on Darker Than Black Records was announced; the EP was released in 2013.

Suzuki also plays in the Japanese thrash metal band Barbatos, was a short time member of Sigh and also plays in the thrash metal / D-beat band Tiger Junkies.

MANTAK:

This notorious gem was fiercely spawned in 1995 by using Waffat as their moniker, but due to another band using the same name at that time, they've changed the band's name to Mantak.

The band recorded their 1st demo tape in 1998 , ''The Borneo Chaosmakers''. The sound was totally 666% raw and really unpolished! In the following year they've entered the studio again to record their 2nd blasphemy entitled ''Sakhtyanic Doctrine'' (demo '99). This one has brought a recognition in the Malaysian extreme metal scene!

In 2000 Mantak has gotten an offer to deal with a Malaysian independent label Muzik Box Production. The same year they've recorded their 1st cass EP named 'Dark Borneo Art' and also 2 unreleased rites('Thy Dance of the Evil Bewitched' and 'And She Drink') for the biggest compilation in Malaysia called Panggilan Pulau Puaka Vol. 4 (Psychic Scream Entertainment). Those satanik symphonies are never to be recorded again in any other Mantak's release!!
Due to some problems both the band & the label were facing, Mantak left Muzik Box Production.

In 2002 they've signed a deal with the biggest Malaysian extreme metal label Nebiula Production thus in the same year their 1st cass LP "Eye Of Deviant" was recorded. Sadly the album has gotten bad reviews from most of Malaysian/South East Asia editors/metalheads. The band didn't give up easily and managed to record their 2nd album in 2003. This 2nd art of virgin desekrator is called "Polymorphous Perversion", also under the same label. Those gems of hell crushed the extreme metal ¡°black market¡± in Jan 2004! The album contained 8 songs of anti-religious supremacy! This time it is more aggressive, impolite, religious raping & 666% more cruel than their previous blasphemy. The lyricks are dealing about hatred, satanic lust, sex, darkness & priests sodomized! The USA based XXXtreme metal label OLD CEMETARY RECORDS re-released it later on for the USA legion on original CD format with different artwork+Bonus HellTraxxx!!!

In 2004 Mantak recorded one of the most hellish offering they've ever done in Nebiula Studio (Kuala Lumpur) for 4 traxxx hellhymns. Those song were at first published as a self-release entitled ''Thy Sexxxmageddon'' only for editors and labels around the world for promotion purposes. And in 2005 an underground France based Vinyl label Legion Of Death Records unleashed those helltraxxx in a 7" EP format under the title ''Eastern Sexxxrigalust''. Without a doubt this release helped to spread Mantak's name in the European Underground XXXtreme Metal Legion. After that, in 2006 Mantak's vomiting a split 7"EP ''Raping God's Law'' with the USA XXXtreme Black/Death Metal Amputator under Old Cemetary Records (USA) as a limited Red and Black Vinyl Version.

Next year broughtanother unchained Split 7" EP with Enshadowed - Greek Great Black Metaller, under a Japanese label Deathrash Armageddon Records.

In sept 2007 Mantak's new album Sabahell's Blasphemer was unleashed under French well known Black Metal label - Drakkar Productions...This one without a doubt presented the most Violent, Furious, Blasphemous and speed as hell Musick Mantak ever done!

Just few weeks after this release followed mentioned before re-release of Polymorphous Perversion - Mantak's 2nd full length by extreme metal label Old Cemetery Record. This edition included ''Dark Borneo Art EP'' traxxx as a bonus.

In 2010 the band decided to work with USA label again and through Old Cemetery Records the most well acclaimed and considered as the Mantak best album so far was unleashed, ''Diabolical Psycholust'' Beside OCR a young Malaysian label - Evil Dead Productions also released the album for the SEA underworld market. Evil Dead already collaborated with Mantak before on MCD 666 few months before.

2011 was a year of ''Terror Hail & Worship 666'' For the first time Mantak worked with a Sarawakian label - Menjrex Nerto Productions to release this tribute cover album.

Adramelech - Psychostasia (1996)

Adramelech the Chancellor of Hell, President of the Senate of the demons and supervisor of Satan's wardrobe.

Adramelech is an Assyrian sun god. Adramelech became depicted later (like many other pagan gods) as a demon in Judaeo-Christian tradition. He's described as the president of the senate of demons, chancellor of Hell and supervisor of Satan's wardrobe in Collin de Plancy's Dictionnaire Infernal. In Milton's Paradise Lost, Adramelech is a fallen angel.

Most lyrics are/were written by Turkka G. Rantanen, whose also done all of the artwork/layouts and happens to also be Jarkko Rantanen's brother.

When the band contained both Jarkko Rantanen & Seppo Taatila, the drums/guitar duties were often alternated between the two.

Adramelech...Unquestionably one of the originators of the old-school finnish death metal sound was formed in 1991 by Jarkko Rantanen in Loimaa, Finland - population 7000. Influenced by such bands as Morbid Angel, Deicide, Bolt Thrower, Grave, Sinister, Vader and Carcass, throughout it's career, Adramelech was constantly troubled by the ongoing line-up changes, but managed to pull out a decent catalogue of death metal releases through out the years. Lyrically dealing with ancient mythology Adramelech was shadowed by more succesfull finnish bands such as Amorphis, Demigod, Impaled Nazarene and Mordicus, instead it lurked in the shadows making it's name in underground circles. At first, wearing the status of "little brother of Demigod", which members appeared on the line up, Adramelech released a rehearsal tape "Human Extermination" and a demo "Grip of Darkness" (1992). Soon they got signed to Adipocere Records (Fra) which released it's first official release "Spring of Recovery 7" (1992). The first long creative break followed, forcing members to learn totally new instruments to be able to continue with the path they chose. In 1994 Repulse Record's Dave Rotten, a huge fan of finnish death metal sound, woke up the band and released "The Fall" minicd. When "the older brother" chose to explore more thrashier style, Adramelech stuck to their guns and kept on delivering uncompromising 100% pure death metal and in 1996 it was rewarded with the first full length, "Psychostasia" released by Repulse Records. In 1997, the band was in it's ultimate form and the result, in my opinion, one of the most crushing death metal releases of all times, "Seven" MCD blessed with the classic Tico Tico studio production. Again, shortly after the release, the band was blistered with another line-up problem and was briefly brought back to life for Repulsive tour in 1998 with Incantation, Deeds of Flesh and Avulsed. In 1998, new members were brought in and for the first time, Jarkko left the vocal duties to concentrate on drums. The new line up was strong, but faced another problem with the release of the second album, having to form a label of their own, Severe Music, in order it to be released. "Pure Blood Doom" was finally out in 1999...cursed with the saying "what goes around, comes around" the band was again put on hold with line-up difficulties in late 2000. The final Adramelech line-up gathered to record their last release "Terror of Thousand Faces" in 2002, and was released by Xtreem Music (ex-Repulse) three years later.

Late 2010 Adramelech decided to continue after a long pause. The band is preparing for some live shows to be played and later for a new release.

Read the words that were never written
learn the prayers better not known
know the times when the Fiendslayer sleeps
and call the Abominations from without

Call forth the Thing that cannot be summoned
stir the slumber of the Sleeping Lord
worship the corpse dead but dreaming
and be spared at the time of the Ancient Worm

Find the key to the lockless Gate
hear the echoes of Dog Gods soundless laughter
know the dreams of Those Who Never Sleep
as the world unnatural is finally united.
