Darkthrone - Preparing for War (Compilation) [2000]

Darkthrone started as a death metal band, but by the end of 1990 and the beginning of 1991, when they were rehearsing the material that would eventually become Goatlord, Nocturno Culto, Zephyrous and Fenriz developed interest to black metal. Soon they decided to abort the Goatlord sessions because the material didn't reflect what they felt, and started to compose the songs that were to be found on A Blaze in the Northern Sky. Dag Nilsen was the only member who still wanted to play technical death metal, so he recorded the bass lines for A Blaze in the Northern Sky and then left the band.

Darkthrone's name was inspired by a Danish zine from around 1985/86 called Blackthorn, written by the guys from the Danish band DesExult, as well as by the lyrics of the Celtic Frost song "Jewel Throne" (I'm the king, sitting in the dark hiding from the shadows of the wind/.../ As I gaze from the Jewel Throne to the portal of infinity).

Machetazo & Cianide - Machetazo / Cianide [Split] 7''EP (2005)

Cianide are US death metal band was formed in 1989 in Chicago, Illinois, by Mike Perun (bass/vocals) and Scott Carroll (guitar). Like so many others from their genre, Cianide made their initial impression with two demos, ''Funeral'' and ''Second Life''. The addition of drummer Jeff Kabella helped bring their crushing musicianship and steadfast exhortations on the nature of decomposition to a wider audience, and the trio went overground in 1992 with ''The Dying Truth''. Building on their influences (Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Venom, Death), ''A Descent Into Hell'' (1994) delivered a further caustic epistle, including a cover version of Canadian death metal crew Slaughter’s ‘'Death Dealer'’. Kabella was replaced by Andy Kuizin on 1996’s ''Rage War 1996'' demo (later re-released by Cyronics Records), while the following year’s ''Death, Doom And Destruction'' found the band increased to a quartet with the addition of second guitarist Jim Bresnahan. Their first album of the new millennium, ''Divide And Conquer'' (2000), was released by Merciless Records. Reduced to a trio with Bresnahan’s departure. The distribution was good, and the band's following grew rapidly. Soon the band started writing and rehearsing new material for a next full length.
Songs were completed and the new album, 'Hell's rebirth', got recorded, with advance copies to shop around to labels worldwide. From Beyond Productions heard the advance, recognized the sheer intensity of the material, and a deal was closed soon thereafter. The album will be presented as CD and limited LP. With 'Hell's rebirth', Cianide again stays true to their initial intentions to create pure and heavy doom death for those who can appreciated things the old school way.

Judas Iscariot - Dethroned, Conquered and Forgotten [EP] (2000)

Judas Iscariot was an American black metal band. It began in 1992 as the solo-project of Andrew Harris, who performed under the pseudonym Akhenaten (after the Egyptian Pharaoh of the same name).
With the release of Heaven in Flames (1999), Duane Timlin (aka Cryptic Winter) joined the band as a session drummer. During 1999 and 2000, Akhenaten twice performed live with a line-up featuring members from Nargaroth, Krieg, Absu and Maniac Butcher.
Akhenaten stated that his music was intended to give others strength to live in a world compromised by materialism and irrational religious ideology.
Some of the lyrics on early Judas Iscariot albums are borrowed from the works of English poet and Christian mystic William Blake, as well as from English poet Percy Bysshe Shelly, fundamental for understanding the connection between Dark Romanticism, the esoteric and their connection to heavy metal lyrics.

Akhenaten repeatedly denied holding any extreme right-wing or racist views. In an interview he stated "Judas Iscariot is no Nazi band. I myself am no Nazi either [...] If other bands think they have to include politics into their music, it's their business, but this has nothing to do with my band."

After relocating to Germany, Akhenaten announced the demise of Judas Iscariot on August 25, 2002.
