Blasphemy - Fuck Christ Tour 1993 (bootleg)

Blasphemy formed in 1984. The band released a demo titled Blood Upon the Altar in 1989 and their debut album, Fallen Angel of Doom, the following year through Wild Rags, a record label they had signed to while touring the United States.

Their second full-length studio album was the 1993 Gods of War released through Osmose Productions. In 1993, Blasphemy also took part in the "Fuck Christ Tour" and toured through Europe with Immortal and Rotting Christ.

Blasphemy was then inactive for several years. Ryan Förster joined the band in 1999. The band's July 2001 concert in Vancouver was released as a live album titled Live Ritual - Friday the 13th in 2002.

They were inactive again until 2009, when they played two concerts; one in Montreal and one in Helsinki, in the Black Flames of Blasphemy festival, with Proclamation, Black Witchery, Revenge and Archgoat. In 2010, Blasphemy headlined the second installation of the Nuclear War Now! festival in Germany.

Blasphemy's song "War Command" has been covered by Beherit and the cover appeared on Beherit's 1999 compilation album Beast of Beherit - Complete Worxxx. Blasphemy's "Winds of the Black Gods" was the opening track on the 2004 compilation Fenriz Presents... The Best of Old-School Black Metal.

Blasphemy - Fallen Angel Of Doom... (1990) [Reissue 2015]

''Fallen Angel Of Doom...'' is considered one of the most influential records for the war metal style (also known as war black metal or bestial black metal).

Following the success of Blasphemy’s “Blood Upon the Altar” demo, which was released in 1989 and ultimately sold more than 2,000 copies, Richard C. of Wild Rags contacted the band, offering them a contract for their debut album. In 1990, the Desecraters entered Fiasco Bros. studio to record “Fallen Angel of Doom...” on a meager $2,000 budget. The lineup consisted of founding members Nocturnal Grave Desecrater and Black Winds on bass and vocals, 3 Black Hearts of Damnation and Impurity on drums, and guitarist Caller of the Storms. A second guitarist, Traditional Sodomizer of the Goddess of Perversity, also known for his work in Witches Hammer, was added to the lineup prior to the recording, after the band’s previous guitarist who following his adverse reaction to the theft and desecration of a gravestone in Ross Bay cemetery. Later that same year, the album was released on red vinyl in North America and black vinyl in Europe and immediately set a new standard of extremity in Black Metal. At the time, Blasphemy had few contemporaries; virtually no one had a style that was so immediate and forceful. Blasphemy drew upon the frenzied assault of death and speed metal, as well as early grindcore acts like Blood and Genocide, but augmented it with the unbridled evil of Sarcófago, Sodom, and Bathory, yielding a new virulent strain of Black Metal. The austere appearance of the album and the music on it, was much like the appearance of the band members depicted on the back cover: menacing, threatening, and violent. In the nearly three decades that have passed since its initial release, it remains unsurpassed.
The centrality of this album to the scene that evolved in its shadow cannot be overstated. As such, NWN! and Ross Bay Cult have endeavored to reissue it periodically, ensuring that it remains accessible. After having previously pressed the album in various color and picture disc variations, the labels sought to present this new edition consistent with the original pressing. Like the original version, it was manufactured in the U.S. on red and black vinyl, and the jacket and insert are similar to the first edition, with the notable exception that the lyrics to the songs “Hording of Evil Vengeance,” “Darkness Prevails,” and “The Desolate Ones,” originally omitted from the first pressing, have been included for this edition.

Gorelust - Reign of Lunacy (1995)

Gorelust were regarded as one of the best live bands of their time, the young Quebec band disbanded within the year of the release of Reign Of Lunacy in 1995. The release itself was limited to 1000 units when released by New World Symphony Records.

The album has been dedicated to Steeve Hurdle of Gorguts who sadly passed away earlier 1992 and who alongside band mate Luc Lemay at the time, contributed backing vocals to Reign Of Lunacy. The album is a raw and brutal exercise for the senses, a merciless assault of technical and uncompromising death metal brought by the combined might of vocalist Jean Beaulieu, guitarist Martin Fournier, bassist Pascal Chevrier, and Francis Marmen on drums.

Cryptopsy - Once Was Not (2005)

Cryptopsy was formed in 1988 by drummer Mike Atkin, guitarrist Steve Thibault and vocalist Dan Greening (who would later take the name "Lord Worm" because he would dig up and ingest worms on stage) under the name "Necrosis". John Todds later joined on bass. The band released several demos, including Mastication and Heterodontism (1989), Realms Of Pathogenia (1991) and Necrosis (1992). The band made their first live appearance in 1992, and changed their name to "Cryptopsy" the same year.
Atkin, whose musical direction was heading in a more Thrash/Speed Metal vein, left the band and was replaced by Flo Mounier (introduced to the band by Todds), whose "high speed and hard hitting drumming" style would mark the beginning of the Cryptopsy sound. Todds left Necrosis shortly thereafter and retired from music to focus on his family. Guitarist Dave Galea also joined the band.
